Summer!! Light and Surfaces

Yesssssss! So summer finally arrived to Vancouver, the city where I am currently living, also known as "Raincouver", you can imagine why. But we are having very nice sunny days, not super hot but not cold at all. So it is time to leave the computer for a while and enjoy the good weather.
However, I do have a great chance to keep learning while I am enjoying summertime, since I do bring my camera with me and take pictures of things that catches my attention or general things just for reference.
Vancouver with light is a gorgeous city, and the sunsets are sick! And that gives me the chance to take photographs of many kinds. Although I don't only take pics of beautiful sunsets or the skyline of the city. This days I have learned how to use the light as my subject and point of interest. My main goal was to take many references for future projects and studies in 3D applications. So many times I just focused on light temperature, chromatic contrast, shadows, light direction and how different surfaces and materials react to light. Didn't really matter what the subject was, I mainly focused on the light, and by doing that, even though many of the photographs I took were spontaneous snapshots (since they reference for CG and not artistic photography) some of them got a lot of interest by themselves. So instead of just putting them in my library folder I decided to bring some of them to my photography section of this blog so people can see them.

I hope you like them and I hope everyone enjoys summertime!!

  1. As an encouraging mum, if I can say so myself, I had a nice time recently with my two kids to decorate their room in our new house that we just moved into. There were lots of the children's art work, made at home and school, that we happily put on the wall.
Then we spent time together sitting in front of the iMac and looked through the big collection of digital images that Wahooart had for their customers to select from and have printed as canvas prints. The kids together chose this painting for their room, Ivan Horse by Edmund Dulac, that we ordered online to have delivered to our new house.
